Route 7 on “the hill” near Welton Road

Conneaut, OhioMar 08, 20180 Comments

If you are entering or leaving Conneaut on Route 7, be aware of the little hill by Welton Road. Northbound coming into town the speed limit abruptly drops from 50 to 35 as you are descending the hill from the south side. Southbound is also a downhill grade where you can easily build up enough momentum to exceed the speed limit (which is 35 until you pass Welton southbound on 7).

Cop is usually sitting somewhere on Welton hiding. Usually at night time.

Broad Street at Depot Street

Conneaut, OhioMar 08, 20180 Comments

If you are traveling in either direction on Broad Street, the cop likes to sit on Depot Street. If you’re traveling Northbound he’ll be to your right. Southbound he will be to your left. Depot is a small side street easily obstructed from either direction coming from Broad Street.

Speed limit is 35.

US Highway Route 20 near Gore Road

Conneaut, OhioJul 22, 20071 Comments

There is a small building in this area that has a white carport located outfront and the police cruisers occasionally park underneath the carport while operating radar. The cruisers are normally facing the west because vehicles heading east finish rounding a blind corner and don’t see the cruiser until the last second. Posted speed is 35, but normally people travel around 45 – 50mph.
