The speed limit on s.r. 30 is 65, but lowers to 50 through Dalton, Many people don’t pay attention, and if you are over the limit, the Dalton cops are sitting in wait to pounce on you. The state highway patrol also monitors this area and west bound 30 into Wooster, Ohio.

On Route 30 in the town of Dalton the speed drops from 55 MPH to 50 MPH and the cops will stop you for any reason.

The local Police station has nothing to do except patrol RT 30, because this small town has little else going on.

They are especially bad on the west side of town, if you are heading east entering the corp limit they will have a cop sitting right at the top of the hill just after the speed limit drops, back in a driveway very hard to see.

This is the intersection of U.S. 30 and Ohio 94, in the Village of Dalton, Wayne County, Ohio. There have been a number of serious and one fatal accident at this intersection, due to people on Ohio 94 crossing into oncoming traffic speeding on U.S. 30. This intersection has a speed limit of 50 mph on the U.S. 30 portion and it is strictly enforced. When they say 50 they don’t mean 55 or 60. Coming from the west it is downhill to the intersection so truckers particularly should be warned not to try and "run" the light.

They are always waiting in their cars along the stretch of road where its 50 mi per hr, I’ve also seen them standing outside the car with their radar. It is going downhill so you have to watch your speed or they will always get you.
