Eastgate, Ohio Speed Traps

Watch out for Sheriffs, they now have infrared license plate readers. They don’t even need to type in your license plate number. If your license is suspended, their infrared readers will automatically scan your plate and pull up your record showing your suspension or warrant and they will pull you over. Gone are the days when they needed a reason or to manually type in your license plate. I was in the back of a police car for a suspended license when I watched their computer do this right in front of me. I didnt even know mine was suspended! While I was in the car, another car drove by and the computer read their plate, snapped a photo and displayed “WARRANT” in Red on the computer!

Betweeen Exit 63 and Mile Post 60 there are airplane speed trap marks painted on the northbound left shoulder of the highway. The marks are thick, white lines, perpendicular to the direction of travel, and are 1/4 mile apart. It is impossible to tell when the speed trap is in effect until it’s too late. When the trap is in use against northbound traffic, State Troopers wait at Mile Post 61 and are set up to pull over many cars at the same time.

Though the marks appear only on the northbound shoulder, they can be used against southbound traffic as well.

Airplane enforcement can only be performed during the day, when the cloud ceiling is higher than 1000 feet and there are 3 miles or more of visibility.

While going either direction on SR32 (West as you come up the hill, east as you crest the bend) most of the time troopers will park in between the four lanes and clock.

They’ll use anything to catch the rice burners in eastgate, watch out for union township police. And/or police cars with red marking down the side. They’ll pull you over for anything, dont sit in bussiness parking lots, they’ll tell you to leave. Exspecially if you have a tricked out car.
