Glenwillow, Ohio Speed Traps
Downtown area on Pettibone Road
THE ENTIRE DOWNTOWN AREA but mainly as you come down the long hill after the roundabout(Eastbound) into Glenwillow. They will also wait as you come down the hill and enter Glenwillow (westbound for Solon). I have received two tickets here and they will sometimes ticket for less than 10 mph over. Unfortunately I avoid the downtown Glenwillow businesses because of this.
Richmond Rd, just north of Trailer Park.
Watch out for a police sitting in Waste Management parking lot just North of Glenwillow Trailer park. They sit right before you hit the railroad tracks right before entrance into Solon.
Richmond Road just North of Pergl Road
Heading north on Richmond Road toward Solon Road just after you pass Pergl Road there is a gravel turnaround area on the right where the police sit and run radar. Richmond Road, as you approach Pergl Road, is a downhill slope and part of the turnaround area you are approaching is tucked behind trees which completely blocks your view of the police car (in the summer) until you are almost next to it.
Glenwillow across from police station/city hall
As you head down the hill on Pettibone (from either direction)toward the center of town in Glenwillow the police commonly sit there. It is a country road that goes downhill for about 1-2 miles and the speed limit is only 35MPH. It changes to 25MPH at the bottom of the hill. The police catch people as they naturally speed up going down the hill. According to the officer, I was going 25MPH when I went through the town, but went too fast down the hill. Very polite police officers, but personally I no longer frequent the 2-4 businesses in town after getting stopped. Unfortunately it is too costly if you forget and go a few miles over the limit.
Cochran Road near Pettibone Road
Be aware of the posted speed limit of 35 mph carefully along Cochran Rd between Tinker’s Creek and Pettibone and 25 mph through the village of Glenwillow. There is always a police cruiser parked along Cochran Rd. in the driveway of Best Buy at 5:00 pm. They also like to park along Pettibone just across the street from the police station at Austin Powder. If you pass by the station, look for four police vehicles parked in the back. If you don’t see them all, watch out.
