Hanoverton, Ohio Speed Traps

East of town At Chestnut Lane, West at Auto Service Lot, North at "One Stop".

This is a very small town and I travel through this area monthly while doing deliveries and have seen the old white-haired town cop sitting at the edge of town in his dark blue vintage 1980’s patrol car trying to ambush unsuspecting motorists quite frequently.
The first time I went through this place, I was headed west on Route 30 from Lisbon, when I noticed the car in front of me rapidly slowing down for no apparent reason. When we hit the edge of town, I realized why. Apparently, this driver had been through the area before and knew of the antics that went on here. I soon saw the town cop sitting off on a side road on my right gunning vehicles like there was no tomorrow. Had this other car not been in front of me, I’d have undoubtedly been going much faster and probably would’ve been pulled over!
Later that day when I passed back through the town heading east, I saw him sitting on the other side of the road by a bridge behind some bushes trying to ambush more people heading into the town from the east. From that day on, I have always been very careful when travelling through here!
Beware; the speed limit drops from 55 to 35 mph on a straightaway in a short amount of distance (especially when entering town from the east), and is 25 mph in the center. The cop likes to hide on side roads and behind some bushes by the bridge (on the left as you are coming into town from the east) trying to nab people who don’t notice the drastic change in speed limits. There are also a lot of places he can hide around here, so beware!
