Hartville, Ohio Speed Traps
N.Prospect Rd just north of the tracks
They sit in driveways and a parking lot so you don’t see them until you come around the bend. And the speed limit is 35 mph right before that. They clock you at the sign when it changes to 25 because you have to slow down for railroad tracks and then a light.
Duquette Road, near Swamp Road
There is farm worker housing on this very rural road. The speed limit is marked very low for normal driving and the Marlboro Twp police use this to generate revenue. If you’re not paying attention, you’ll drive at 45 to 55 mph (because that seems reasonable) and they’ll ticket you. Cost is $115 to $155 and hopefully you don’t have to go to court because it’s another 25 minutes away in Alliance.
E. Maple St. (State Route 619)
Coming into Hartville from Marlboro there are signs – 50 MPH then 35 MPH then down to 25, Police are often beside the Hartville Fire Department. Pay attention. Cost is $165 and point on license.
State Route 43 as you enter into the city limits over the hill
The Hartville police sit in the parking area of a shopping center NE side of the road across from the grave yard and wait for you to come up over the hill going 45MPH (legal limit up to that point)which is the speed limit until you hit the city line and it drops to 35MPH.
