State Route 37 east/south side of Johnstown

Johnstown, OhioMay 21, 20100 Comments

The revenue patrol sits in the entry/exit for the high school monitoring traffic in the 35mph zone with their headlights off. Some of the road has no white stripe at the berm edge. Beware of the white line in Johnstown, they Will write you a ticket for crossing the white line on the berm. To make matters worse- If you decide to appeal to the town mayor in mayors court, they have the county prosecutor there with the fat Ohio Revised Code Book open to the page which states the infraction in black-n-white.

State Route 62 near Gas Station

Johnstown, OhioJun 05, 20080 Comments

Going north on Rt. 62 just before you get into the village limits, the speed goes abruptly from 50 to 35 MPH. The landmark is the old CFN gas station on the left that is being torn down. There is a Rt. 62 car wash on the right. They used to sit regular in the gas station parking lot but it is torn up right now. I don’t what is going in there, but I’m sure they will be back. Enforcement is going both ways. If you look careful, you will spot them.

The hill on route 62, at the bottom of which is Raccoon creek.

The Johnstown police aspire to the revenue of their "brethern in blue" in nearby Alexandria and Granville. These three Licking County villages form the Bermuda Triangle of speed traps.
