Lakewood, Ohio Speed Traps
Warren Road from Madison to Lakewood Heights
I’m surprised this one hasn’t been posted yet. I often see Lakewood police cruisers sitting behind the Sherwin WIlliams or the Walgreens off of Warren just south of Madison Ave. There are very hard to see for traffic heading both north and south. I have often seen cruisers sitting on side streets off Warren all the way south to Lakewood Hts. Blvd.
Post Office
I see the fuzz sitting in the Lakewood post office ALOT trying to get people flying down Warren Ave.
The post office is in between Detroit & Franklin next to the Speedway gas station.
Sloane Ave between W.Clifton & Detroit Ave
Unmarked car sitting heading west before Sloane Viaduct clocking for motorist going over 25 MPH westbound
Nicholson Ave, north of Lake Ave
Sits 50 feet off Lake and uses Radar to trap motorists going West to East in AM and East to West in PM
Detroit Avenue near Franklin Boulevard
Lakewood police commonly sit between parked cars on any north-south side street running between Clifton Blvd, Detroit Ave, Hilliard/Franklin Blvd and Madison Ave. Speed limit is 25. They use cars without a permanent gumball, just a small one on the side of the roof, probably magnetic. If you come flying down the street it’s too late by the time you go by him and notice he’s not just another parked car. They’ve been doing this since the 1970s and I just saw them parked on side streets two or three times not two weeks ago.
