Mantua, Ohio Speed Traps

South of town on rt 44 the limit drops from 45 to 25 when traveling north into town. This is a target zone.North of town on rt 44 is also a target zone.

Mantua Villge Police are under strict orders to enforce an illegal 25 MPH zone in this area to generate revenue for the village. The Police Chief recieves salary increases based on revenue returns yearly.

the whole town is a trap. They have 2 cop cars. SR-44 drops to 25mph through town.. they will be waiting. they will ticket for 1 mph over. The town is small and like most areas they all know each other. So slam the brakes when you see the 25mph sign. They are revenue generators. I know someone who knows them and the cops admit to it!

I was pulled over by an officer wearing black leather with holes in them. Wrote me a ticket for speeding, marked radar as a means for determining speed. I asked to see the radar because I didn’t believe I was speeding and was told by the officer that his radar was turned off. I enquired how he then clocked me speeding if his radar was turned off and he stated that it was on but he turned it off. And also I needed to stay in my vehicle for safety reasons. This area is well known for their speed trap. I would suggest to all nonresidents to avoid this town altogether.
