Medina, Ohio Speed Traps

The Marathon on the corner of State and Rt. 18 is a popular hangout for Medina’s "finest" during the late night. They usually grab a cup of coffee and are generally hardasses any time you try to be friendly. Not sure if they actually run speed traps there, but it’s definitely a place you can find them.

If a motorist is heading East on State Route 18, they will come to St. Francis Xavier chuch on their right and Spring Grove Cemetary on their right. It’s 25 MPH between the cemetary and church, then 35 after the church. The officer sits between the street lights on the cemetary (north) side of the street and nabs you for usually accelarating too soon. He’s friendly, which is a surprise considering Medina/Montville copls and he’s mostly looking for DUIs, but be careful regardless.

On SR 57 there is a little day care center, across from the day care center is a fire station with a row of trees one one side of the drive way to the fire house. City P.D will sit along the rows of trees and if you are driving north bound you can not see them, the speed limit is 35 and they will get you for going just a few over

From SR 18 to Commerce it is 25 mph. The police will often sit in the McJak candy factory parking lot and nab you as it drops from 45 to 25 right there.

Going East on Route 42 going into Medina. The speed limit drops from 45 to 35 then 25 rather quickly. At night, the signs are difficult to see.
