Newtown, Ohio Speed Traps
they sit in the village auto lot amoung the parked car adjacent to the post office, and backed up against the quick lube sign shooting traffic coming down 32 toward Newtown, The speed drops from 50 to 35 to 25 in less than 1/10 of a mile. rediculous!!!! this is a a major state route and heavily traveled.
he sits in the church parking lot at the bottom of the hill and watches for people speeding . the speed limit is 40mph i think, though nothing is posted.
The cruiser sits in the parking lot of Bramble Mowers and shoots down Roundbottom toward Newtown and also picks up traffic coming down Roundbottom from the soccer fields. The speed drops from Anderson Twp (45) to 35 mph at the curve.
Cops like to sit in Car Wash lot on the corner. (Another private property owner allows this?) Speed usually measured for Valley Ave. as it’s a 25 MPH between two 35 MPH roads.
Coming into Newtown, speed limit changes from 50 to 35 to 25. On opposite side of road, it is 35 mph while 25 mph on the other. 25 is unduly slow for the road and the Newtown cops in their ‘new’ Dodge Chargers love to pull people over.
Watch out! I have seen them ‘waiting’ at all hours..
