Interstate I 90 near West Bound, over hill, after Rocky River Bridge

Rocky River, OhioNov 05, 20040 Comments

Police patrol this area almost every time I drive by, which is 3 to 4 times daily for the past 5 or 6 years (it is a surprise to not see a car clocking traffic). Generally, they won’t sit there during rush hour, or it would create a bottleneck. Other than sitting after a hill (which disguises the car until the last moment), they like to sit under bridges at night (the shadow disguises the car), and they also like to sit at the top of the onramps. Generally, they won’t pull you over unless you are going faster than 70mph (speed limit is 60). My advice would be not to speed through any part of I-90 through Rocky River

The speed limit on I90 is only 60 mph because of the traffic jams that take place during rush hour. How can you expect people to go 60 during off-peak hours or on weekends. That’s the only time I see them out there enforcing the limit. I dare them to run the laser during rush hour. I drive past going 75 every day and evening. come get me suckers.

Under the Detroit Rd Bridge on I-90 heading Westbound

With Laser-Gun in hand, the clever Rocky River PD will stand next to thier patrol car cleverly positioned under the bridge and hidden in the shadows, and shoot Westbound traffic as they approach. Also, be aware, that they will sit on the left shoulder of I-90 1/2 mile West of the location just explained and nail you after you make the curve under the Detroit Rd bridge.

I-90 Westbound

Cop sits in lefthand burm just west of the bridge and prior to the Hilliard Road exit. Just as the road crests as you are going uphill you will see an unmarked car which was ordered and designed specifically for this spot. Low profile lightbar only visable from the front. I drive this way to work everyday and I see a cop here 95% of the time. I think the only time one is not their is in between shifts.

Exit 162

Rocky River Cops sit below the rise following exit 162 (Hilliard Road) heading westbound CONSTANTLY. The same is true half the time heading eastbound.
