You are coming right out of Smithville and the speed limit is 45 and another mile you get on the state route and it becomes 55. So regularly people think that its ok to go 55 in the 45 zone. Well there is a diner where a thick layer of trees cover and cops sit right in that tree line to catch you going 55. These are Smithville cops and they will get you for going 2-3 miles over. I’m not one to go slow and I got picked up for goin 62 and a big price to pay for me.
Center Street near Milton Street
When traveling into Smithville on Center Street, the speed limit drops suddenly at Milton St. You barely have time to brake down to 25 when there is a police car waiting to ticket you.
State Highway 585 near The Barn Resturant
The speed limit drops from 55 to 35 to 25 as you enter Smithville from the SE and a police car parked in the dept. parking lot facing SW moniters your speed. Braking is required to slow down since the road is slightly downhill. Very little allowance is given for traveling over the posted speeds.

Watch your speed, they take this SERIOUSLY. I have never gotten a ticket there but they are out all the time shooting RADAR.
