North Street near Thompson Street

Springfield, OhioJan 08, 20081 Comments

I encountered this trap traveling East into Springfield on North Street. The speed limit changes as the road Route 4 goes into Springfield and changes to North Street; the limit goes from 65 to 50 to 45 to 35 and that is where the cop will tag you, between Thompson and Bechtle, right after the road curves. I have taken notice that one specific officer had 56 written citations in a 49 day period. I have also researched and found many other officers within this timeframe have written roughly the same (possibly more) in this same location.

Upper Valley Pike Road near Upper Valley Mall

Springfield, OhioNov 19, 20071 Comments

When you are heading south on Upper Valley Pike toward the Upper Valley mall, a German Village police officer will sit against the bushes, right at the line where the speed limit changes to 35 mph. They don’t always sit on one side of the road or the other, but will sit right at or very close to that change in speed limit line.

Angola Road near Holland-Sylvania Road

Springfield, OhioJul 16, 20071 Comments

County sheriffs and Holland police set up on this stretch of road almost on a daily basis. Most monitoring occurs between Holland-Sylvania Rd. and McCord Rd., however there have been times that enforcement has occurred west of McCord road to King Rd. The posted speed is 35 miles/hour and I don’t know whether they allow any deviation, since I keep to the speed limit to avoid a citation.
