Strongsville, Ohio Speed Traps
Pearl Road near Royalton Road
Cop car sits parked just inside of cemetery (east side of road) clocking traffic headed north on Pearl Rd. Road declines here so you’re given an added boost in speed that the cops rely on to produce tickets for mayor’s court.
Pearl Road Street near State Route North of Route 42
Pearl Road between Route 42 and Ledgewood is a posted 25 mile per hour zone at all times. The school zone in that area is 20 mph. If you are speeding above 25mph in that area they will rightly ticket you.
Interstate I-71 near Rt. 82 Royalton Road
Speed drops to 60 north of Brunswick line and Strongsville sits in the cross-over at the city limit and the next one north. Northern boundary also patrolled (Middleburg Hts line)
Interstate 71 near State Highway 82
Normally late at night, an officer will sit in the turn around just south of 82 on 71 with no lights on. You don’t even see the car until you are too close.
Interstate 71 near State Highway 82/Royalton Road
Strongsville units will sit in the median running radar and/or laser just north of the SR82/Royalton Road interchange. I wouldn’t have listed this trap, but because they have an all dark-green unit with black graphics (same graphics as their blue/red-on-white marked cars), they are obviously using speeding tickets to enhance revenue, much like the other Cleveland-metro communities with interstates running through them.
