Troy, Ohio Speed Traps
Just north of Ste Rte 41 on I-75 (end of concrete divider)
Monitors north and southbound traffic, but mostly northbound due to their cruisers being partially hidden by the concrete barrier and people speeding up to merge from 3 lanes to 2.
I-75 just north of Exit 74 Both North and South Bound
I see Staties clocking in the morning and evening as 3 lanes go down to 2 lanes at the north end of Troy – as early as 6am and as late as 6pm. Typically they’re trying to catch those speeding in the Northbound left lane to pass a few more cars before it goes down to 2 lanes. I have also seen them clocking Southbound traffic in the evening as I travel southbound.
McCaig Ave. between Dorset and Monroe St.
Troy City police constantly patrol McCaig in the area of Heywood School. Frequently they will park in the Heywood Parking lot or on the street and clock both eastbound and westbound traffic. The speed limit is 25MPH. I travel McCaig frequently and half the time see either a moving Troy police car or a parked one clocking traffic. It is not unusual to see them on Sunday mornings ticketing people going to church.
St. Rt. 202 between Troy and Tipp City
As you leave Staunton and go about 3 miles south there is a place on the right in a clump of trees on an old property with no house that they sit.
Also by the bridge, they back off of the road and sit near the bridge and get people.
At night when the market is closed they also sit in that parking lot.
