Westlake, Ohio Speed Traps
I-90 between Crocker and Columbia
I have been seeing Westlake cruisers sitting in the median of I-90 lately. They are anywhere between Crocker Road and Columbia Road. It is difficult to see them especially at night when they usually have all their lights off. They usually seem to be clocking eastbound traffic.
I-90 Eastbound during the morning rush hour 6-8am
Ohio State Highway patrol sit from the Lorain/Cuyahoga border to Columbia Road. Under Crocker Road bridge and around the bend after the Crocker exit are their favorite places.
Dover Center Road/Detroit Road
The Westlake Police LOVE to sit directly behind the Tuesday Morning store at this corner. From behind the the store there is a direct view onto Dover from the alley. I’ve seen them get quite a few people in the mornings on my way to work. I also note (at least 3 days of the week) as I drive by the alley and take a quick look, there’s usually a patrol car sitting there. My guess is they catch a lot of people flying out of Bay up the hill on Dover after they cross Detroit.
Crocker Road
Near Crocker Park between Hilliard Blvd. and Detroit Road.
Detroit and Crocker Rd
Police watch eastbound traffic on Detroit for people making an illegal left turn into Wendy’s. You have to go further East to the Hampton Inn/ Bob Evans driveway if you want to get to Wendy’s legally.
