Xenia, Ohio Speed Traps
March, 2011 has been designated as a month of "stepped up" enforcement of traffic laws on U.S. 35. Westbound U.S. 35 in Greene County is a 65-mph highway, which turns into a 4-lane divided highway with a 55-mph. speed limit west of Xenia all the way to Dayton. Oftentimes (even when there is no "stepped up" enforcement) a cop car will be sitting just past the end of the ramp from the end of the 65-mph within .2 miles of the speed dropping down to 55.
State Police sit at the bridge on Rt 380 between Paintersville-Springvalley Rd and Krepps Rd early in the morning. They are there at random on weekdays.
I was in a 65 MPH section, driving 78 MPH (by cruise control in a Lexus). The officer had 85 on her radar. I was using a Valentine detector that never detected any radar. She was extremely defensive, although I remained polite the entire time. I suspect the 85 was "preset".
Xenia Police have 2 on this road. 1 sits in the middle across from Kroger Mall. Has access to both directions.
Hides behind carefully placed bushes. This part of 35 is 50 MPH.There is a police car all times of day.
The 2nd is down in town just before Burger King. This is mostly during the day. The speed limit is 35. Until you get to Main St. It drops to 25 MPH.
