Dewar, Oklahoma Speed Traps
Hwy 266 just on the other side of the school
Police park off the side of the road hidden, right in the middle of the speed going from 35-45 and vice versa the other direction. No question if you are going even one over they will issue you a ticket. No they do not give any warnings. The town has tons of police vehicles and way too many officers for a town that does not even have 900 people. This is the only revenue the town has and should be reported to the Commissioner of Public Safety under the state of Oklahoma 47 Okla. stat § 2-117. This is a form of Policing for Profit which is not right and outright theft for the amount they charge.
Along Hwy 266
Local PD patrol this area with a vengeance. Avoid this town! I almost moved there, glad I didn’t. It would have been too expensive in the long run. Locals have put up speed trap warning signs at each end of the town. BEWARE!
Broadway
The police hide out of site waiting for someone to come along speeding. Recently my wife was given a citation for 7 miles over the speed limit. It cost her $125.

Maybe not so much a trap, but seem to focus on out of towners.
