Country Club Road near Briarwood Drive

North Country Club Road between Plato School and Camelback Road, especially around Briarwood Drive and Northgate. Cops sit behind a tree just north of Briarwood Drive on the east side of the road and are hidden from southbound traffic. Sometimes cops sit back from the stop sign on Northgate and get drivers from either south or north on Country Club Road.

Officers will sit on the west side of Highway 81 in the Montgomery Mattress parking lot. Usually seen early in the morning before the business opens. I have seen them there as early as 4:30 am. They are usually sitting facing the south.

US Highway 81 near South Side of City

Officer sits in a truck parking lot a mile south of the Highway 7 overpass of Highway 81. Highway is a wide four-lane, well-marked, well-lighted, and low density commercial traffic. Speed limit is 40 mph. A more appropriate speed would be 45 or 50.

The enforcement in irregular but not uncommon. When it occurs, an officer will write tickets for hours at a time. I suspect most tickets are for speeds from 45 to 50 mph.

Underposting speed is typical of Duncan’s approach to speed enforcement. Much of the city is posted at 25 mph. This is in fact the "default" speed if there is no posted limit.

State Highway 7 near 9th Street

City Police will sit in the median of HWY 7 and "clock" you right as you pop up over a bridge. It happens right before the 40 mph zone changes to 45 mph. By the time you are able to see them it’s too late. They usually sit on the east side of the bridge but, I’ve seen them on the west side of it too.
