Krebs, Oklahoma Speed Traps

Krebs police dept patrols from electric ave to hwy 270 bypass. They hide their car in front of safety pilons on North side of bridge. Ive seen almost pull out in front of on-coming traffic to give a 5 MPH over the speed limit ticket.

Traveling west on Highway 270 toward McAlester, OK there are several small communities in a row from Hartshorne, OK to McAlester, OK. The speed limit goes back and forth as you drive through the communities. The last one before getting to McAlester is Krebs. The speed limit drops from 65 to 50 when you top a bit of a rise. I got to visit with the fine policeman in the parking lot of a BBQ restaurant with the name of "Speed Trap BarBQue". I kid you not.

I can’t believe nobody has posted this "SPEED TRAP", because it is definitely one. In fact, there is a barbeque place located about middle ways of the speed trap, that is named "SPEED TRAP BARBEQUE". State highway, speed limit goes from 65 down to 55, down to 50, almost instantly going west. Then it goes down to 45 into McAlester. This is definitely a big time "SPEED TRAP", and they do not want to hear any kind of explanations, or excuses. They will TICKET you.

from intersection of US Highway 69 on West side of Krebs to Speedtrap BBQ on East sise of Krebs (about a 2 – 3 mile stretch) on US Highway 270 .Hotspot is just East of jct of US 69 & US 270 .Officers will offer to have your ticket filed as SP9 to keep it off your records , does that also keep state of Oklahoma from tracking revenue generated by writing tickets ?When contacted by phone ,city clerk vague about means of keeping the ticket off your driving record .

Leaving McAlester, OK. approximately one mile east of US69 intersection on US270 extending east for two miles. US270 is a broad urban four lane highway heading east towards Hugo, OK. When approaching Krebs from the west the speed limit is 60 mph then drops to 50 then 45 mph rapidly inside the city limits of Krebs.
