Eastern Road near Welcome to Moore Sign

Moore, OklahomaNov 06, 20060 Comments

This trap is the outer most limit for the City of Moore. If you are going North on Eatern just past 27th you are still in Moore city limits and the speed limit is 40mph. As you come across the nice asphalt of Eastern you cross onto some rought asphalt and that there is the city limits cross over to where you cross into OKC limits.

The trap is when you are coming South on Eastern from I240. the limit used to be 50 but was recently dropped to 40mph. There are some residential house and business on the edge of this road which is why the limit was dropped. It is easy to drive 50mph on this road. The City of Moore officers like to patrol this section on motorcycles and hide between the evergreen tree that is just inside of the nice section of this road and catch people that are coming into the city limits of Moore.

Beware of this trap. As you are traveling South into Moore make sure if you have not obeyed the 40mph limit that is enforce once you exit from I240 onto Eastern that you are once you hit this point in the road. My wife has seen on several occasions the Moore PD sitting in this location waiting to bust drivers.

149th Street near Portland Road

This is a 45MPH zone. If you know this road then you know that going 45 will get you passed by people doing 70 or more. Oklahoma Police scooter was sitting at Portland and 149th at 6AM. I have taken this road every morning to work so spent 200 to learn not to take the road.

Sooner Road near 134 th Street

Just north of 134th St on the east side of the road, there is usually a OCPD. Both cars and motorcycles patrol this stretch of Sooner.

Sooner Road near 149th Street

Moore Police Dept sit in Brau Haus entrance right before SE 34thSt on the west side of Sooner Rd. or in the Baptist church entrance road on the east side of Sooner Rd. as early as 5:00AM and work it till 7:30AM Mon-Fri. The posted speed limit of 50mph is not realistic for a major arterial road that is the main access to Tinker AFB and SE OKC. As you hit the Moore City line either at 149th St southbound or at Indian Hills Rd throttle back because these guys stop & ticket for 4mph to 6mph over the posted speed limit. This is one two mile stretch of road that is used to generate some serious revenue for the city of Moore year in year out. I know of one instance where a gentlemen was stopped two days in a row and received tickets for 12mph over and 4mph over respectively. They do not give warning notices!

Bryant Street near 4th Street

Moore, OklahomaJan 20, 20060 Comments

Police sit at 2 different spots in the mornings: at the Park getting people on 4th St. or tucked away on the majot corner between 4th and 19th. The speed limit is 25mph, it’s crazy. It’s not going THROUGH the neighborhoods and it’s not too close to the park. So, people go 35-40 through there and cops get them every time!
