Norman, Oklahoma Speed Traps
I-35 and Indian Hills Road
There have been highway patrol units on both sides of I-35 at Indian Hills road during morning commute. There are multiple units and they have backward pointing radar to get you coming up behind them.
N.W. 36th St. between Main and Robinson
From just North of Sooner Mall all the way to Robinson. Mornings are especially heinous. Multiple cops hiding in just about every place possible. The school zone is HEAVILY monitored in mornings.
Stubbeman Avenue (Between Robinson & Rock Creek Road)
This area is both a residential area and a school zone for Norman North High. The posted speed limit is 25 mph. Cops have a tendency of hiding out in neighborhood streets, driveways of people’s houses, and also the church parking lots. This is a favorite spot for Norman Police to pull over mostly high school students either leaving or going to school.
E. Lindsey between 12th and Classen
The speed limit is 35. the street visually looks as if it is setup for faster speed. At the 12th street Traffic light going west, you are seeing the cross traffic is going 40 to 45. So when the light lets you go your mind has you set to go 40-45. When you are going East there is a steep hill drivers gas it to get up. for both directions you only have to watch the south side of the street for the police. There are a few spots and a lot distraction for their cover. I lived on that street and watched them get several drivers in a days time.
NE 24th North of Robinson
Cop sits in church parking lot(s) on east side of 24th and the street South of the church. Usually checking Southbound traffic.
