Norman, Oklahoma Speed Traps
Chataqua Street near Lindsey Street
The Strip of Chataqua Street Between Lindsey St and Imhoff Rd is UNBELEIVABLY Enforced. Cops normally sit in the Phi Delta Theta Parking lot radaring people that cross the speed limit change from 35 down to 25 Mph. If you are ANYWHERE on that road, drive the speed limit or expect to get pulled AND ticketed. I see people getting pulled daily. The Norman 5-0 are Relentless!
Sooner Road near 12th Avenue
Topping off out of town, one cop will sit and clock, and over the hill, another will be sitting in a driveway to pull you over. This four lane "quasi-highway" is a mere 50 mph. Be very careful in this area, or experince the wrath of Norman 5-0.
24th SW Avenue near Main Street
24th Between Main and Lindsey. Norman Cops like to hide out in the dentists parking lot on the weekends (I saw four today waiting). Also like to hide behind Hastings in the alley, they are blocked by a fence so you can’t see them.
On Main st., between Stewart Av. and 12th St.
Police will park on south side in a vacant lot where it is difficult to see them until they have nailed the driver. When I went in to pay the $138.fine, the clerk was keeping a tally on her calendar. She had so many marks on that day, she couldn’t hardly find room to enter mine.
Highway 9 (East off of I-35 where the speed limit is 50mph.)
There is always several police cars along this highway. You can be stopped for just one mile over the speed limit and if the officer decides that you did not get through a yellow traffic light when he thinks you should, you will get a ticket, even if you are the only car on the road at 4:00A.M. in the morning.
