Highway 9 (East off of I-35 where the speed limit is 50mph.)

Norman, OklahomaJan 01, 20030 Comments

There is always several police cars along this highway. You can be stopped for just one mile over the speed limit and if the officer decides that you did not get through a yellow traffic light when he thinks you should, you will get a ticket, even if you are the only car on the road at 4:00A.M. in the morning.

Oklahoma State Highway 9 Norman Area

Norman, OklahomaSep 01, 20000 Comments

Highway 9 east between I-35 and little axe, has a bad reputation with the citizens of norman. There have been inquiries about the traffic accidents in this 20 mile stretch of highway by the city council of Norman. With the OK Media leading the rally for more police and lower speed limits, The Norman police have received fundage for new cars and a communication center. There are at least two new crown victorias (R.A.I.D) style meaning there are no visible means of seeing them as enforcement vehicles, other than the three antanae on the back glass. Both cars have the illegal limosine tint to obscure the camera’s and front and back radar guns. There is one black crown vic and one forest green to watch for.

The most recent threat I’ve witnessed comes from the tactics of a few (and I stress FEW) of Normans finest in particular the officer in car #974113. On two seperate occasions I’ve witnessed this cowboy lockup his brakes eastbound on 9 power sliding trough the grass center median and smoking the tire’s as he cut into traffic going back west after a woman in a little white sub compact. The incident that moved me to write this post occured on State highway 77. I again witnessed the same behavior, going south a police car swerving into Oncoming traffic southbound @ 50 m.p.h again verifying car#974113 in pursuit of a motorcycle.

There is a Bicycle cop that roams the residential parts of town, Beware He has a RADAR and will stop you for a ticket. I hope I’ve given Ya’ll a taste of our local flava’ and that you’ll be careful when you come visit us on football saturdays.
