Coming into Roff on Hwy 1. They hide on side roads behind bushes. They hide on the North and South side of town. They also hide on a dirt road just about a mile as you exit off of the turnpike and turn to go into Roff.

This one is so bad that the locals have signs up at either end of town warning of "Speed Trap Ahead". In Roff, the HIghway makes a 90 degree turn and I was stopped for doing 45 in a 20 mph zone in the turn. I was in an SUV that would have turned over at that speed. I asked the cop how he could tell my speed and he said radar, but refused to let me go back to his car and see it. I then asked him why my radar detector didn’t warn me of his radar, and he evaded the question and said "I could just tell you were speeding". We were meeting and he could not have been checking my speed with his speedometer. Worse, 2 days later, he stopped me on the other end of town as I was leaving Roff. I was definately 5 mph under the posted limit and again, I asked about the radar, etc. I reminded him that he got me a couple of days before. His answer was "I get so many of you guys from out of town, I can’t remember". I assured him that I would hire an attorney if he wrote me up again. Also mentioned a couple of politicians I know well… just got a warning. My advice, don’t even drive through this burg. The town has about 700 people and just the chief and maybe another patrolman. Find an alternate route!
