Seiling, Oklahoma Speed Traps
Center of town.
Levied $189 fine for driving 35 in 25 mph zone. No traffic lights in small town.. Dead of night, no other vehicles on highway! Ridiculous!
Basically entire town.
Drops quickly to 45 mph then 30 mph then 25 mph.
On highway 270 north and south sides of town
On north side of town by the park area. On south side by abandoned filling station. Long streaches of highway going into and out of town. 65 goes to 45 quickly. Gas/quick shops politically connected which is why the divided highway does not bypass town. No mercy shown by police as this is the way the town gets its money.
North of Seiling on Highway 270
Speed limit changes from 65 mph to 45 mph in a very short distance. Police stationed at the 45 mph sign will issue ticket for any infraction. 15 mph over equals $240. Beware!
State Highway 281 / 270 near State Hwy runs in middle of town
When coming into town from the south headed into Seiling, they sometimes sit at gas station on right, and mostly sit in middle of town across from car wash. Coming from the North headed south into town, they usually sit off to the left at the tire shop. This is a high level speed trap. BEWARE!
