City of Watts, OK, north and south on U. S. 59, is a notorious speed trap. Beginning at city limits on north and south are signs 60 mph, then 50, then 40, where the cops sit. They’ll nail you on radar in the 60- and 50-mph zones, then stop you after you pass the 40. And they’re relentless.

Hwy 59 as you come into town
Between Westville and Siloam Springs on Hwy 59 there is a little town called Watts, Oklahoma. There is nothing there, but there is always a police car parked just as you come into town. They will get you for even 2 or 3 miles over the limit. It is such a infamous trap that Arlo Guthrie actually wrote about it in one of his songs.
