Woodward, Oklahoma Speed Traps
1st Street & Locust Ave.
20 mph school zone between Locust Ave. and Cherry Ave. on 1st Street. The police will be sitting on PRIVATE PROPERTY while looking for victims.
8th street and hanks trail south of the old walmart
Dounut dunker sleeps in his car at night parked in the ditch with cow pasture on both sides of the road. Have seen him there multiple times. The speed limit is posted 45 going north and 35 going south. Spoke with attorney and said that is legal.
Oklahoma Ave.
West of McDonald’s and traveling west on Oklahoma Ave. coming down the hill, there will usually be a city policeman sitting on private property radaring people coming down the steep hill. The posted limit is 40 an the sign is located at the apex of the hill. There is no way to maintain 40 coming down the hill unless using brakes moderately. Also, in this town, the police regularly use cell phones while driving. I was following one that was speeding (45 in a 35)while talking on the phone and he stopped at green light, looked both ways and took off when it turned yellow. I had to stop behind him and then had to wait through the light. So, look out for this speed trap and look out for the wreckless driving of the police.
