Ajax, Ontario Speed Traps

There is a little area where truck drivers normally park, it is a small area right before you reach tim hortons. The polic often reverse into this area so you cant see them if you are heading towards Tim hortons, because this is a long straightaway people are usually exceeding the 60 km/hr posted limit. If you are coming through the direction past rosland road you will see them, but if you arent and are coming from the straight away you will not see him in time. Keep a lookout because the cop always uses laser, and will be outside of his car standing on the sidewalk. The cop is rarely in his car so your radar detector wont help you on this one. Its laser hes using.

Bayly Street West of Westney has maximum speed posted as 70kmh, however that’s only till just west of Squire Beach Road then it drops to 60kmh. The police sit on or by Toy Ave. by the Tim Hortons to catch people driving between 70 – 80kmh.

Not many people realize the limit is only 50 km between about Westney Road in Ajax through to about the trailer park/motel at Notion Road in Pickering. I see cops nabbing people almost everytime I drive through there, particularly at night, particularly westbound traffic. Sure as rain and taxes- they will be there.

Durham Region cruiser sits on gravel cutout near open field on west side of Westney Road about 1 km south of Taunton. Southbound motorists are blind to see him due to partial tree obstruction, while northbound traffic need to keep an eye out. Speed is 60 kmh in this area, but north of Taunton, speed is 80 kmh. I’ve seen him at least twice a week for the last year.

At night time they sit in the 7/11 parking lot timing people coming toward rossland. its a 60 zone.
