Cornwall, Ontario Speed Traps
Just South of the McConnell Ave. railway overpass on the downslope (where you natrually speed up) the limit drops from 70 Km/H to 50 Km/H at Lemay St. Cornwall Police often sit here with radar and do a brisk business.
Cornwall’s finest will stand at the corner of Sara St. and Brookdale Ave. (just south of the Home Depot store) with a handheld radar gun and you likely won’t see him until he steps out onto Brookdale Ave.
See also Power Dam Rd. The message is the OPP in this area hide around the overpass support colums in the median, and on "on ramps" to the 401. And in the summer amongst the bullrushes in the median at the eastern end of Cornwall. They are ALWAYS out in this area, so be careful.
more than 1 car usually set up near over pass or on off ramps [heavy on weekends] but will sneak out through the week now the holidayers are on the move.
Cruiser in median of highway under an overpass. Because you’re coming around a bend near the city limit sign for Cornwall, you don’t see it until it’s too late. They love to ticket Quebec drivers too!
