King City, Ontario Speed Traps
King City Museum parking lot, King Rd just East of Jane
Police sets the trap in the museum’s parking lot (on King Road North side) watching westbound traffic mostly at rush hour. Speed limit is 60. As you come on top of the hill (past yet another speed trap already mentioned here) they can see you from a good distance (500-700 m away).
Aurora Rd (justeast of Hwy 400) Church or School Parking Lot
This is a posted 50 km/h zone with a school in it; Cops sit there on a regular basis, I drive past this area twice a day and 7 times out of 10 there is a speed trap set up. Dont break the 50 limit!!
15th SideRoad near Yonge Street
The cop will park in a driveway about 150m West of Yonge St, on the South side of 15th Sideroad (continuation of Bloomingtin Rd, between Yong and Keels St). The speed limit is 40Km on the stretch between Yonge and Dufferin. He sits there at PM rush hour, or on the weekends.
Weston Road near King Vaughan Line Road
Going Northbound on Weston Rd just North of King-Vaughan Line Road. The speed limit drops from 80km/hr down to 50km/hr. Going South bound on Weston Road is the same south of King Side Road.
King SideRoad near Keele Street
King City is notorious for Speed enforcement. Heading East or West on King Sideroad, you can be stopped by a speed trap located on a sidestreet on the north side of Keele. Driving Eastbound towards King City, the speed limit drops abruptly from 70 to 50kph.
This speed trap is disgusting because King Sideroad is a four lane highway with no houses fronted on it. Although there is a school on the south side of the road, no pedestrian traffic is generated by it whatsoever.
