Westmount Road near Ottawa Street

Going down Westmount Rd. after crossing Ottawa St. towards Waterloo just after the expressway bridge that goes over Westmount Rd. on the right side there is a side street. Police usually have a trap set up there in the morning. The police usually stands behind the light pole with his radar gun. Also the next side street on the right they set up there as well. Since Westmount goes up a bit of a hill you cannot see them until you are over the hill and by then it’s too late as they will have got you already.

Ottawa Street near Dreger Avenue

As you come off the Expressway and turn unto Ottawa Street (heading towards River Road) watch for the police cars tucked into Dreger Avenue (on the right hand side.)

They like to hide just tucked around the bend and grab all the people who are still doing faster than the limit, since you’re coming off an expressway and unto a 4 lane street.

Heading along Westmount after Ottawa (towards Waterloo) there is a speed trap usually located by the 2 churches and school. The officer usually parks in the Church parking lot so you don’t notice the car until you get close. The Officer is usually standing behind/near a Street light post with the gun pointed. It’s a 50km/h zone but turns into a 40km/h zone during school hours. Many cars fly by going 60+.

Mainly moving away from Fischer-Hallman and down the hill, but I have seen the radar pointing the other way. Speed makes a drop to 40 kmh from the usual 50 kmh within the city. You don’t think it is because of the exclusive private golf course, do you? The hill and the change makes it very easy to get over the limit with my car, and I’ve managed to do it on a bicycle with little effort.
