Madoc, Ontario Speed Traps
State Highway 7 near West of the Tim Hortons
There is an abandoned parking lot about 5 minutes east of the Tim Hortons. The police love to just sit far back in the parking lot and wait for the speeders. There seems to also be a lot of pull overs from police driving in the opposite direction around this area. So watch your speed through these parts. It’s a convient place for them, because its close to there station with is ironically beside the Tim Hortons.
#7 Highway Road near Upper Flinton Road
Police set up 7 days a week usually during daylight hours. Enforcement is particularly high on holiday weekends. Ontario Provincial Police like to setup laser traps east of Highway 37 at the end of a few flat, straight stretches in this area where they know people will be tempted to speed. The traps consist of three to four hidden chase cars also equipped with Ka band radar. Some of these cruisers are unmarked, and a couple carry Spectre III radar detector detectors.
US Highway 7 near Madoc east to Actinolite
OPP are here all the time, mostly moving in an unmarked cruiser, however I’ve seen them intercepting with Laser as well. Speeds are high here, especially on weekends.
