Midland, Ontario Speed Traps
Vinden Ave. eastbound, half mile from CR#93
Traveling east on Vinden the speed drops from 60Km/H (36MPH) to 50 Kph (30MPH), just at the top of a downgrade and as you round a curve. Police sit to a small side street at the bottom of the hill. They have you before you see them.
Highway 12 & King Street
Although this is a 4 lane highway, this is posted as 60 kph. They sit in the driveway of the Weber plant across from the Sunoco gas station. On a dark night you cannot see the police car at all.
OSPCA Entrance Lane near Hwy 12 and Port Mcnicoll cutoff Road
They park in the OSPCA laneway late night for speeders heading home from work.
Chaingate Drive near William Street
The town police sit right at the corner of Chaingate Drive and William St and are not able to be seen until you are well within the radars reach, by then it is too late to slow down, they also watch for seatbelt visibilty.
Provincial Highway 12 Road near Franke Industries factory
Midland Town Police and occassionaly OPP will sit on the sideroad into the factory. Speed limit is 60km coming from an 80km zone so a lot of people dont slow immediately or speed up too soon coming from Midland. Police car not visible from highway until it is too late.
