Ottawa, Ontario Speed Traps
Heron Rd immediately west off Walkley Rd
if traveling west watch as you turn onto Heron. Almost every time I see them set up at this location they have a car pulled over. You won’t see them until you round the corner …. too late then
speed limit is 50KM most people drive 60+ in this area
bronson ave in the front of the cbc ,heading south
most times there are two motorcycles with a radar pointing on cars headding south and picking up speed as thy leave sunnyside traffic light to catch the airport parkway where it becomes one lane.
Windermere Avenue between Byron Avenue and Richmond Road
Police usually are on a motorcycle and getting people driving in both directions on Richmond Road or on Byron Avenue
Hwy 416, between Fallowfield and HuntClub (closer to HClub)
A cruiser sits on a gravel connecting road between the northbound and southbound sides of the highway. When heading northbound, you take a wide bend to the left and you don’t see the car until it’s too late. When heading southbound, people expect the speedtrap to be under the Huntclub bridge and get caught afterwards. They don’t set this trap up frequently, so people don’t expect it when they chose this location for a speedtrap.
Fisher & Normandy Crescent (approx)
Police park on the cross street (they vary, but usually the southern Normandy Crescent of the two crossings) and stand by the hydro pole to stop anyone going more than 58-59kph (50 zone). They are a regular feature when there is not now about. 80% of the time they are interested in northbound traffic.
