Stoney Creek, Ontario Speed Traps
Centennial Parkway between King Street and Queenston Road
The trap is typically set up on the east side of Centennial to catch people heading north. There are several small streets such as Felker and Randall that open off Centennial and run east. The cops will set up on any of them. Sometimes the radar is in the car, sometimes they’ll use a handheld unit and stand behind a telephone pole.
Corman and King
King street is so tempting to go faster than 50km per hour. The police sit on Corman where you can’t see them until you are there.
First Road West and Highland Road.
They too sit here to ensure you make a full stop at the stop sign. Sometimes they sit farther down past Saltfleet highschool watching for the same thing. On highland, it is a 40 km/hr zone too, so they sit along any street here.
Mud St E near Third Rd E
About once a week the police station themselves on the road by the park or up at Tapleytown school to ticket drivers that do not slow down in the school zone.
Intersection – Green Rd. & Hemlock Ave.
It is not a ‘speed trap’ per say, but a police officer watches while parked on Hemlock Ave. to see who stops at the stop sign and who doesn’t – approx twice a week.
