101 with curves, posted 50 mph zone. Sheriff”s car (white marked cruiser) facing N/B on a pull out gets S/B 101 traffic as they come around the curve toward him. No time to react and slow down. It is a speed trap as he just sits and waits.

Newmark east bound approaching Sherman Ave.

Coos Bay, OregonSep 12, 20100 Comments

As you go east bound on Newmark the speed limit drops to 25MPH. The sign is hidden by signs and the police officer sits on the right side under a tree. Usually it’s a North Bend Police officer whose car is black. He is hard to see

At the wiegh station at Hauser 5 miles north of the North Bend bridge. Due to budget constraints, both a Coos County Sheriff and a State Police Officer are working together and using the weigh station as a base to catch speeders. Be careful between approximatly 8 A.M. and 6 P.M. during the week days.
