Moro, Oregon Speed Traps

Watch out when leaving Moro’s 25 MPH limit. It changes to 55 MPH on a downhill grade. Many drivers exceed this limit when coming down the hill, and the patrolling officers are waiting on this hill to catch you. Locals have reported that this is a known practice designed to raise revenue for the town.

I encountered an older Jeep Cherokee with "E" plates driving about 50 mph. I started passing in a completely safe area. The Cherokee sped up during the pass and I had to push it a little to complete the pass. Surprise!! There was a state trooper waiting up the road. Were they working together??

Patrolled heavily by Sheriff’s Department. Speed limit is 55 — they ticket going over 60. Put it on cruise until Kent, OR.
