All of city of Rogue River

Rogue River, OregonAug 22, 20110 Comments

In the past two years time we moved to Foots Creek from Medford. We are retired. Our grown children moved to Rogue river as well. Both buying homes with their spouses. That is three new residents in Rogue River. We are conservative and law abiding with 6 new incomes that have been added to pay taxes in Rogue River as well as spend money here. There is one problem… We keep getting tickets here. Both our daughters received tickets for California stops pulling out of the back of Ray’s. ( hmmm , imagine that. either girl has ever had a ticket until moving to RR) . Then my husband got a ticket for going 30 in front of Ace on the way to Ray’s . Our family stopped coming into the town of Rogue River for about a year as we were so upset that three family members got tickets about 9 months apart. We are paranoid to drive here. We avoid shopping here and only do on emergency. I feel that the police dept needs revenue and the retailers are suffering as who wants to fork out $100s of dollars in citations each year to be able to shop here. Rogue River is boarding up it’s main street businesses like wild fire. Hmmm. I wonder if it has anything to do with it’s residents being upset about it’s horrid reputaion of excessive traffic citations. We were all so happy to move here. Within the first year that changed … Hmmmm!

I-5 North Bound just going over Rogue River

As you pass the new Rogue River bridge on left and you’re on I-5 north bound crosing the river, a Oregon State Trooper sits off to the far right (gravel area) as you make a slight left bend.

You barely see him but he is pointed directly at you (front end) and has enough room for two other chase vehicles (usually the small cars).

At the angle he sits he’s got you with instant on radar based on judging your movement between two fix points.

the whole city of Rogue River. It’s along I-5, near Grants Pass

A guy got a ticket for going 1 mph over the speed limit. He challenged it in court, lost and had to pay $200 including court costs. Also beware many roads around the town have a 15 mph limit where any other city would post 25 to 35 mph for a similar road. It’s rumored the tickets pay a significant portion of the city’s operating expenses.
