West Linn, Oregon Speed Traps

I got nabbed here with laser going east bound. After crossing the Tualitan river, the speed limit used to be 45. They lowered it to 35 even though there are no cross streets between dollar and Jenny. There is no safety concern here. It is likely a move to generate more citation income. Luckily I got the ticket before they lowered the spped limit or the fine would have been heftier. My friend was not so lucky. The officer is parked on the south side of the road, ready and armed with his laser.

Right as you come over the hill near safeway there is a driveway which leads into a neighborhood called "brandywine". Since none of the mansions have been built down there yet the WL police sit there and wait for speeders to pull over the hill going faster than they aught to be. Slow down here!

West Linn police will stop you for ANY traffic violation – ie: no turn signal, a headlight out, speeding slightly…they are very nice, seem to give out a lot of warnings, but that also seems to depend on the drivers’ attitude towards them, and the driver’s record. Be respectful to them, and they will probably let you go with a warning.
