Marked cars, sometimes the motorcycle cops will sit in the driveway of the Core Creek Apartment complex. They sit far enough back that you won’t easily see them, but they are visible. You are going down the hill out of Bensalem into Philadelphia. The chase cars are up the road in Bensalem.

Bensalem PD conducts speed traps on a regular basis on the southbound side of Rt 1 right at the Street Rd (Rt 132) exit. They have a clock car sit in the parking lot to the scale house and have chase cars further down (usually by Roosevelt Cemetery). The clock car uses VASCAR to time you, then calls the time and vehicle description to the chase cars over the radio). You can see where they do the clocking, because VASCAR requires white lines painted across the road about 100 or 200 feet apart. Local police in PA are not allowed to use radar. They usually only go after the big money, only stopping the people doing over about 75 (the speed limit is 55). Slow down when you get to Street Rd.!

The speed limit drops on Knights road between Street Road and Woodhaven. The Bensalem police use multiple cars and pull over entire lines of cars at a time. Coverage is not predictable. Traffic normally flows about 20 MPH over the posted limit. Yes, I received a ticket there a few months ago.

Police back into tree lined area near side of road. They use marking strips in the road for timing. The speed limit is 25mph. The police will then have two cars at Bensalem Blvd to pull people over. Received a ticket from here.
