Plank Rd, off Route 99 (near Campbells Pottery)

Edinboro, PennsylvaniaOct 09, 20110 Comments

Despite being a straight, flat, low population road, speed is reduced to 45 MPH. Just before it turns 55 MPH, there is a dirt road (Racap Rd), which provides a hiding spot.
State Troopers hide on Racaop using radar as drivers speed up when they see the 55 MPH sign.
There is no reason for the speed to be 45 on this stretch, it is obviously set up for the purpose of creating a speeding situation where a hiding place is available.

Cop was sitting at rest area and since it was dark, I did not see him until he pulled behind me with his lights on. I have seen them often on that stretch, sometimes hidden on the side of the road, beyond a curve.
