36th to 33rd and State Street

Erie, PennsylvaniaJul 24, 20071 Comments

Traveling north on state street from 38th, the posted speed limit is 25 mph. the trap is set anywhere from 36th to 33rd on a side street on the East side of the road. Keep in mind this 25 mph is rediculous considering the said road is a steep angle down hill……. i have tried to conciously ride the brakes, and still not be able to attain the posted speed limit.

State Highway Bayfront Connector near Interstate 90

Erie, PennsylvaniaMar 11, 20060 Comments

The road is wide open and divided, with two lanes each direction. Semi limited access…Speed limit is 35mph…Most of the time the police officers sit behind the "WELCOME TO HARBORCREEK" sign at the start of highway. The road follows railroad tracks that serve local industries.>>>>Watch out around parked rail cars and Tankers! They also have concrete barriers from past construction>>>Kinda convenient they have not been removed from a newly constructed highway.

Interstate 79 North near Milcreek Mall

Erie, PennsylvaniaMar 11, 20061 Comments

After going past the mall (off to your right) on I-79 North, you will see two roads that cross the interstate. The local police Constantly sit behind the base of the second overpass (38th street). I drive this road daily and it is Totally impossible to see when they are there. Sometimes they park the cruiser at an impossible parked position, and radio speeding citizens vehicle information ahead to other state troopers. Speed limit also drops to 55mph instead of 65mph, shortly before here. They also have a good straight stretch to catch you in after trap as well.

US Highway 19 – Peach Street

Erie, PennsylvaniaSep 04, 20050 Comments

Across from Glenwood Elementary school, police will sit in the Sterling Square parking lot. Many times they will use Motorcycle units that are hiding, backed in between pillars of the building that block their view until you come speeding through. Peach Street is a four lane road on this stretch, but, the speed limit is set at 25 mph, which is quite low. Especially beware on weekends and during school hours as it’s a school zone as well.

The police will also frequently watch the intersection two blocks down the street from this location or at Peach and Chestnut/Craig. The lanes at this intersection were redesigned so that now a right hand turn only lane has been created. Many people have been continuing straight from the right turn lane and it’s quite the fine if they catch you.

Interstate 90 near Mile Marker 26

Observed two PA State Troopers with cars stopped in the 55mph section of I-90 near Erie. Troopers were at mile marker 26, although the entire 55mph section between mile markers 21 and 31 is patrolled heavily.
