Meshoppen, Pennsylvania Speed Traps

Route 6 through the town of Meshoppen is posted 35 MPH. There’s nothing to do in Meshoppen except watch paint dry and run radar. Almost everyone who travels through this town on a regular basis immediately slows to 35 MPH as they enter the posted zone (you will readily observe this). Do as these drivers do! The part-time police officers here are not present often, but when they are they issue every speeding motorist a ticket. Got a courtesy card from your police officer friend? Keep it in your wallet ’cause it ain’t gonna help you in Meshoppen. Yep, it’s that bad!

Traveling either way on Rte 6 at 55 mph suddenly hits 35mph, and then 25 mph within feet. Rte 267 intersects with rte 6 and turns abruptly to 25mph. One local policeman in a town of 200 people, and will arrest you for a tiny fraction over the limit. Cop hides iamong used cars behind buildings and on a dirt rd. His car is a white marked car.

State roadds heavily enforced/ Heavey traffic but few accidents in this town/ Fully marked patrol cars day and night.
