Northern Poconos, Pennsylvania Speed Traps

Speed limits were lowered over the summer during construction
season. Now, construction has ended…but the former 65mph zone has now been replaced by new 55mph signs. That zone now appears about 1 to 1.5 miles south of where it used to be. And guess where the beginning of the 55mph zone was placed? You got it…at the beginning of a big hill going down. At the bottom, near the overpass of the I-84 entrance/exit ramp, there is a spot for PA State Police to be camped out. This used to be a 65mph zone for the past 8 years for traffic heading northbound. Now, someone, namely PENNDOT region 9 or State Police has moved that lower speed limit further south. All in the interests of "safety." Now, we
have another underposted speed in place.
