Blackburn Road near Interstate 79

Sewickley Heights, PennsylvaniaOct 02, 20070 Comments

There are actually several traps along the 4-5 mile winding route of Blackburn Road. The speed limit is 25 mph and there are a few sharper turns in the road that 25 is reasonable. For the most part, you will have to brake in order to stay below the 25. Heading up the hill from the town of Sewickley, just past Country Club Lane, as you start down the hill there are 2-4 hiding spots where traffic is monitored in both directions. Police cars hide in driveways behind stone entrance pillars.

Another favorite spot along Blackburn is just past the I79N sign near the Sewickley Methodist Church. There is a parking lot on the right where the police sit and trap cars coming down the hill toward the town. This road is heavily patroled on a daily basis including rush hour & weekends. Try to watch your speed in the specific locations that I have mentioned.
