Rt. 80 West by Brown St. Overpass

Stroudsburg, PennsylvaniaJun 15, 20230 Comments

Construction on the side of Rt. 80 E & W bound. Speed signs have the limit to 40mph. Speed cameras set up possibly an electronic speed sign. If you travel at 40 mph like they post, be prepared as no one travels that slow and it is dangerous. I received two warnings for two drivers in the household going at 55 mph. Now I drive at 40 with flashers.

Route 209N Express Expressway near State Route 33N Split

Stroudsburg, PennsylvaniaFeb 13, 20080 Comments

Right after Rt 209 Express splits from Rt 33N and heads towards 80E, a trooper has been sitting on the wide median on the left-it is far enough away from the split that you don’t see them until you round the corner before the old Beaver Valley intersection that used to cross 209 Express. They used to use the Beaver Valley Road side as a hideout, but this is the first I have seen them on either side of this spot in years. Easy to be over the limit here, especially after passing someone to get in the correct lane, etc. Not usually heavy traffic here so going with the flow may not be an option.

Interstate 80

Stroudsburg, PennsylvaniaAug 23, 20072 Comments

The entire Stroudsburg area is a "Targeted Enforcement Area" and they mean it. Fines are doubled and the speed limit is only 50. The police have lots of places to hide and a million tricks up their sleeves. I have even seen officers on foot, on an overpass above the highway and a chase car about a half mile down the road. and often there are multiple troopers working the area so if you see a cop with a customer, don’t think you are safe. They will usually allow a little leeway.

rte 80 from the delaware river bridge west to scotrun

Stroudsburg, PennsylvaniaJan 01, 20010 Comments

due to state representative election, this section was reduced to 50. the traffic routinely drives 65 to 70. speed was reduced because of the truck overturns when exiting 80 to 209 south, once or twice a month. really serious problem there, but the state rep. got the whole 7 miles reduced. really stupid, and ignored, and of course the trucks keep turning over.
