Tunkhannock, Pennsylvania Speed Traps
Route 92 immediately south of Dunkin Donuts
Police sit in parking lots and driveways from the John Deere dealer down to the Truck service garage. Speed limit is 25 mph. They sometimes sit tight up to the buildings so they cannot be seen. Difficult to see trap going South Bound.
At the intersection to Vosburg road and after entering Rt 87
They will sit back in by the church by vosburg road and watch Rt6 traffic including the red light there. Also after the Rt87 turn off they will sit tucked back, in various locations, on either side before the speed limit turns from 45 to 55.
Rt. 6 east, entry to the by-pass
Not really a speed trap, an illegal passing trap. Tunk. Township cops sit next to the runaway truck road and try to catch you passing a slow moving truck as you enter the bypass. Good thing is ticket is no points……
State Route 29 near Redfield Street
Local officers sit in Redfield St and in a private driveway on the East side of 29 as you enter Tunkhannock Borough.
State Route 6 near Between bridge leading out of Tunkhannock and Shadowbrook Inn and Resort Bypass
If you are heading East out of Tunkhannock there is a flat right before coming to Shadowbrook Inn and Resort. The cruisers like to sit on the left side most of the time behind a row of pine trees. I have also seen them on the right side in the church parking lot right after the bridge. They usually clock you coming down the hill or right on the flat. The posted limit is 35.
