State Route 8 near Parker Road

Union City, PennsylvaniaSep 24, 20050 Comments

Two (2) or more Pennsylvania State Police cruisers each with handheld radar units set up on the straight away between Parker Road and the Union City Country Club, which is three (3) to five (5) miles south of Union City, PA on State Route 8.

Their main purpose appears to be writing speeding tickets and often use the problem-prone Genesis Handheld Stationary (GHS) radar guns (see FightGHS.com and GHSClassAction.com for details). One cruiser will be highly visible and others may be concealed, off the road near old barns and silos. They seem to target northbound more so than southbound traffic.

The area is actually a poor location to set-up traffic radar because of possible interference and false readings from the power lines that run along side and across Route 8. This (interference and false readings from power lines) can be used as a defense in court if you believe you were wrongly cited for speeding and radar was used as the speed timing device.
